As the end was at hand
And the flaming divine betrayed
A man was forced to understand
Once we were only moonlight rays

A touch of decayed dawn
And the scent of death in the air
The dust upon our graves
Is all that will remain

When the gods tear this world down
And the bitter sweet waves of bloodshed sea
Call us to drown
In the waters of filth and lies
When the gods of demise
Demand back their iron crown
As the final hymn puts us to sleep
This funeral is our own

Hands crossed towards dead god
Once more we pray, deliver us all
From the sins, from the plague
That taints our faith with constant rape

As sightless, senseless
We would fall defenseless
In the arms of endless
God of emptiness

"They spoke of Heaven, they spoke of God
I could not find this powerless Divine
From this nest of deformed infants
Yet I found the graveyard of all gods

As I stare at the end of all
Do I know our time was written no more
This world would not live another dawn
This day is the written end of all"

When the gods have fallen down
And this dead world breathes no more
The written fate of this world
Will close it's eyes this day
Soon the rusted Gods of Demise
Would rise from their vast graves
Then the final hymn rips open skies
From this death we shall never rise

When our hymn is silenced
And our grave remains forgotten
Beneath the dirt
Only a fading memory lost in time

Avec Панихида, Батюшка renaît enfin de ses cendres et, bien que désormais seul (ou plus exactement entouré de deux chanteurs), Христофор accomplit un miracle. Il s'inscrit dans la continuité de Литоургиiа avec un black metal orthodoxe qui nous convie ici à une cérémonie dédiée aux morts. The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.
